It is a rutile type of titanium dioxide. It is manufactured by the chloride process and provides high gloss and ultra-durability in paint. Suitable for solvent-based and water-based systems. It is a rutile titanium dioxide pigment produced by the chlorination method. It is specially formulated to reduce discoloration of resin compounds and finished plastic products during processing and exposure to UV light. Its high opacity and very blue undertone produces clean, bright whites at low loadings in clear resins and resins with natural colors. Its unique aluminum oxide surface treatment provides excellent resistance to tarnish. Excellent in polyolefin or engineering resin applications requiring high hiding power, very blue tint, excellent dispersion and resistance to tarnish. Its surface treatment allows it to be used in lead-stabilized PVC systems while still providing controlled chalking in exterior PVC applications.
8)Ti-Pure R-104
It is a rutile titanium dioxide pigment produced through a chlorination process. It is designed to provide excellent melt flow for highly loaded thermoplastic masterbatches. It combines high tinting strength with blue undertones. Provides excellent crack resistance in high temperature extrusion coating and cast film applications. Features a unique surface treatment that has minimal impact on the melt flow characteristics of the masterbatch. This allows high loading to be achieved in relatively low melt index resins and still have a melt processable material. It wets easily with the surface of thermoplastics and can significantly increase processing rates during the preparation of thermoplastic masterbatches in certain types of compounding equipment.
9)Ti-Pure R-105
It is a rutile titanium dioxide pigment produced through a chlorination process. Designed for outdoor plastic applications, this bright titanium dioxide combines neutral undertones with moderate coverage for easy color formulation work. It is also treated with an organic-based material to provide excellent overall flow and processability while minimizing the hygroscopicity of the inorganic coated titanium dioxide. It has the perfect combination of brightness, neutral undertones and medium pigmentation. Provides excellent gloss retention in exterior PVC applications. Silicon dioxide encapsulation technology is used for durability. The combination of surface treatments used provides excellent resistance to photochromism.
10)Ti-Pure R-350
It is a titanium dioxide pigment with excellent dispersion and processability, very low volatile content, minimal interaction with polymer additives, and the perfect combination of durability and brightness. Even in highly loaded titanium dioxide PE systems, the surfaces allow excellent processing. Its unique chemistry enables the product to achieve ideal masterbatch viscosities in a variety of polyolefin-based resins. Optimized for polyolefin and ABS applications. 6 About the DuPont Titanium Dioxide by chlorination method
In the world, there are only two process technologies for the production of titanium dioxide, the sulfuric acid method and the chlorination method, but the prices of the finished products produced by the two differ by several thousand (per ton). Titanium dioxide by sulfuric acid method is not only low in value, but also has a narrow use. Titanium dioxide is mainly used in the production of coatings (about 60%). Among them, automotive paints, exterior wall coatings, etc. can only use chlorinated titanium dioxide, and interior wall coatings with poor weather resistance use sulfuric acid products.
Advantages of Dupont TiO2 (by chlorination method)?
- The three wastes are less. The chlorination method produces about 1 ton of waste per ton of product, which is much smaller than that of the sulfuric acid method;
- Less air pollution. The gas discharged by the chlorination method can meet the atmospheric emission requirements through recycling or incineration;
- The product quality is good. - The chlorination method is a continuous production process, which is easy for industrial production.
