Product Overview
Sodium dichloroisocyanurate (SDIC, also written NaDCC or Na-DCC) is an organic chlorine compound used extensively as a disinfectant and bleaching agent. Great Spring supplies SDIC in both anhydrous form (available chlorine ≥ 60%) and dihydrate form (available chlorine ≥ 56%), commonly marketed as “SDIC 65%” and “SDIC 56%” respectively. SDIC granules and powder dissolve rapidly in water, releasing hypochlorous acid (HOCl) as the active disinfecting species, effective against a broad spectrum of bacteria, viruses, spores, and algae.
Compared with TCCA, SDIC has a higher water solubility and a slightly higher pH in solution (~5.5 – 7.0), making it gentler on pool fittings and more suitable for applications requiring quick, complete dissolution.
